7:30am: Hit your alarm clock and climb out of bed. It’s a new day at the Global Scholar program. After getting dressed and gathering your books, head over to the dining hall where pancakes, French toast and more await you on the breakfast line. Next, cross the lawn to one of the lecture halls, where we’ll kick off the day with a fun activity and brief announcements.
9am: Time for class! Today’s seminar “International Relations 101: From Bretton Woods to Cancun” will give you an historical overview of today’s most prominent international institutions. No snoozing this time! Seminars are led by skilled experts and teachers in an interactive setting. There will be ample time for questions and debate.
11am: Break into small groups to continue conversation in “precept” – a collegiate term for small group discussion sessions that follow lectures. You can continue your conversation over lunch or take a break.
12pm: Time to recharge with lunch! Head to the dining hall for delicious daily specials, a burger from the grill, or perhaps a nice salad.
1pm: Workshops: Polish your leadership or public speaking skills, or perhaps learn the basics of policymaking or advocacy in one of our interactive afternoon workshops.
3pm: Relax with a game of Frisbee, check email or brush up on readings for the next workshop.
5pm: Dinner provides an opportunity to rest and relax before the evening program: a trip to a concert on the National Mall, or perhaps a Nationals game!
11pm: Lights out! Rest up for tomorrow!
